Getting it to you
Delivery and restrictions
Everything is sent tracked and signed for, because a small parcel of silver is worth more than it looks. Costs and timescales are below, along with the customs and legal restrictions that apply to precious metal articles.

Timescales
Orders placed before 13:00 on a working day are normally picked the same day; after that, the next working day. We do not dispatch on weekends or English public holidays.
Engraved pieces add two to three working days because the text is cut after the order is placed. If an engraved item is ordered alongside stock items we send the whole order together unless you ask us to split it, in which case standard delivery applies to the first parcel only.
Where a piece is temporarily out of stock we tell you at the point of order and give you the choice of waiting, substituting or cancelling for a full refund. We do not take payment for goods we cannot supply within 30 days without your agreement.
Tracking and signature
Every parcel is tracked and requires a signature. You will receive the tracking reference by email when the parcel leaves us. We cannot mark a parcel “leave in a safe place” — the insurance on a precious metal parcel depends on a signature being obtained.
Risk in the goods passes to you when the parcel is delivered to the address you gave, or to a person you have nominated to take delivery. If the courier cannot obtain a signature they will leave a card and attempt redelivery; parcels unclaimed after the courier’s holding period come back to us and we will contact you to arrange re-sending at cost.
Packaging
Pieces are supplied in a tarnish-inhibiting pouch inside a rigid box, in a plain outer parcel with no indication of contents. Pierced earrings are additionally supplied in a sealed pack for hygiene reasons — opening that seal ends the right to return them.
Boxes and pouches are recyclable. We do not include printed catalogues or promotional inserts.
Delivery outside the United Kingdom
We currently deliver to: United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Denmark.
Prices shown on this site include UK VAT. For deliveries outside the UK, VAT and any import duty are handled under the rules of the destination country and may be charged to you by the carrier before delivery. Those charges are set by the destination country, not by us, and we cannot predict or absorb them. Refusing a parcel because of import charges is treated as a withdrawal, and the outbound and return carriage costs are deducted from the refund.
Precious metal shipments must be declared accurately on the customs paperwork. We declare the true description and the price paid. We will not under-declare a value or describe an article as a gift, and we cannot make an exception to this.
Legal restrictions
- We sell to adults. Orders must be placed by someone aged 18 or over, and delivery requires a signature.
- Hallmarking. Articles of silver above the statutory exemption weight carry a UK hallmark before they leave us. See hallmarking.
- Restricted materials. We do not sell ivory in any form (Ivory Act 2018), any CITES-listed material including coral, tortoiseshell and giant clam, or real fur. Nothing we ship requires a CITES permit.
- Chemicals. The cleaning liquid in the Silver Care Kit is a consumer chemical product. It is shipped within the UK and EU under normal ground carriage but cannot be sent by air mail. Where a destination or carrier prohibits it, we will supply the polishing cloth and refund the balance.
- Sanctions and embargoes. We do not ship to any territory subject to UK trade sanctions, and we may cancel and refund an order if we cannot lawfully fulfil it.
- Not investment metal. We sell finished consumer jewellery. We do not sell bullion, bars, coins or investment-grade metal, we do not buy metal back, and our prices are not linked to the spot market.
If something goes wrong
If your parcel is late, tell us and we will chase the carrier. If tracking shows delivered and you do not have it, contact us within 14 days of the delivery date so we can open a claim while the carrier still holds the evidence.
If a piece arrives damaged, photograph the parcel and the piece before doing anything else and send the images to support@thejewellersuk.shop. Damage in transit is our problem to fix, not yours — see faulty or misdescribed goods.
